Here at Upchurch Cooking Firewood, we specialize in the best smoking wood in the Midwest and the United States. We hand select or smoking wood and Santa Fe Pinion wood when we send it to your doorstep anywhere in the U.S.  Since we are located in the Midwest, we help cut your shipping costs since we are centrally located. If you were to ship 20 lbs of smoking wood from Los Angeles to Boston, your costs would end up being more costly to get smoking wood to you. But, being centrally located, it is a better situation for all of us.  Some of our best sellers the last week has been Santa Fe Pinion wood because summer is here. Our pinion wood smells amazing and will repel your bugs, mosquitoes and insects. Often people spray chemicals on them like OFF and deet and this can be very harmful to your body. Take care of yourself and your family by using an organic approach with a small pinion wood fire!

Another great seller this week has been our Southern Hickory smoking wood. This is a great wood to use in your BBQ smoker. It is a well known BBQ wood that is used on all meats especially ribs and briskets. If you'd like to have the meat fall off the bone a little, mix it with our pecan smoking wood. Pecan wood is a lighter nut wood that is a fabulous wood for everything. I have used pecan smoking wood for meats, venison deer meat, smoking and grilling fruit and vegetables and other foods. If I use hickory here at the wood shop, I usually mix it with some pecan smoking wood because I like the tenderness it provides.

Another one of our best smoking wood options to consider is our Persimmon smoking and cooking wood. Persimmon has one of the thickest sap lines I've seen in a fruit wood. It has a very sweet aroma and has a heavy smoke to it. I have used a lot of Persimmon the past two summers. My favorite and best piece of meat I smoke happens to be pork butt and pork roast. I like the pork options because they are not an expensive meat and the can come out of the BBQ smoker very very tender. I have use persimmon alone and mixed it with pecan smoking wood or hickory smoking wood. I have really enjoyed all these options. If you'd really like to get the best view of persimmon smoking wood, use it alone first. This will really be able to tell how just how well you will like it. The persimmon fruit wood has been a very popular smoking wood and cooking wood here at our BBQ wood shop!

During the winter, there a lot of different firewood for sale options you have in your indoor fireplace and outdoor fireplace. All the fruit and nut firweood options we have will work great for this. The best option for you will be our Pinion wood for sale. It is a year round wood and can be used in your indoor fireplace too. Our Pinion wood from New Mexico is a long burning firewood and this is a nice luxury along with the aromatic smells of New Mexico.  So, see our online store and order today and have it shipped straight to our door step!

Hi Tommy in Seattle,

Apple smoking wood is talked about a lot on the internet but that doesn’t mean it’s the best smoking wood. In my experience it is not the best. Once I started selling persimmon smoking wood it out sold apple wood by a lot and repeat customers were elated by what persimmon does with all meats, pork, beef and more. So, that is my short answer. I don’t believe apple smoking wood is the best.

Using your bbq smoker and the finest smoking wood is a very rewarding experience. The main point is it all about food and eating and I’ve never met anyone that didn’t enjoy eating. There are various smoking wood options out there and most of it depends on what part of the United States you live in. But, http://CookingFirewood.com can ship you a vast array of different types of the best smoking wood options in the nation. For example, if you lived in Arizona you will be using smoking wood that falls in the citrus wood category. Smoking woods like Nectarine, Lemon and citrus are very popular but they don’t have the wonderful option of hickory wood and pecan wood which are a couple of the nations best in the famous bbq restaurants. Another very popular technique I have been using in my bbq smoker is to implement the use of my water pan in my bbq smoker. For awhile I would set my smoking meat on top of aluminum foil to let it sit in its juices. After I began using my water pan again I no longer needed the foil. But keep the aluminum foil around because you may want to experiment with smoking wood chips and smoking wood pellets. I usually soak my smoking wood pellets and smoking wood pellets in water or fruit juices for 30 minutes before using in my bbq smoker. Wrap about 1/3 a cup of the chips or pellets in the foil and then poke some holes in the foil. This will allow the wood to really smoke when you place them on the flame in the smoker. This is also a great way to turn your gas grill into a bbq smoker without going out and buying a whole new bbq smoker to use your bbq wood in. The best smoking wood can create the best food for you to put on your dinner plate to enjoy!

Some of the best smoking wood recipes are to mix Pecan smoking wood with Hickory smoking wood. Just using Hickory wood alone can really dry out your meat ESPECIALLY if you are not using a water pan. Hickory gives the flavor and the pecan wood helps the meat fall off the bone. Great smoking wood recipe!

Smoking wood is so interesting since it is cooking wood and I love to eat. I’m curious about the smoking wood combination of pecan and hickory smoking wood. Is that best for smoking pork ribs? Is it okay for grilling Alaskan Salmon? I’ll try to get in touch with you before i order, thanks sally
