Some options we have for firewood year round include Oak Firewood. This oak firewood is harvested all across the Oklahoma Cross Timbers region. Oak firewood is a long burning wood that people enjoy in the Midwest United States.  Another type of firewood we have used is Hickory firewood that is normally used in BBQ smokers as BBQ wood. In the winter fireplace, hickory wood is a very nice wood with an amazing smell and hickory wood for sale is a long burning hardwood. Another firewood that has the highest amounts of BTU which is heating intensity is our Texas Mesquite firewood. Our mesquite burns very long and long and it puts off a incredible amount of heat.

Since all the wood we carry is firewood, all of it is suitable for firewood. Actually cooking wood will smell better in your fireplace or also as camping wood. You may think that your fireplace smoke just goes up the chimney but that is not correct. Some smoke does enter into your home. Some of the fireplace wood we have is Mesquite wood, hickory wood, persimmon wood, walnut wood and others. You would need to check our current inventory for the proper firewood for your needs.

If you are looking for a firewood that can go great in your BBQ smoker and your winter fireplace, there are a couple good firewood options.  Hickory firewood is a long and hot burning firewood that can really pack a lot of heat output when it is burned. Hickory firewood has a hard inner core and really gives it a long burn time. A plus to Hickory is that it smells really great as a winter fireplace firewood. It also is one of the most famous firewood for sale options when it comes to cooking meat and smoking meats and more. One of the recent favorite ways I have used Hickory firewood is to use it to grill burgers. It gave the burgers a spectacular taste because the hickory has such a rich flavor. Hickory is known as the "King of the Smoking Woods" and definitely lives up to its reputation.

While we are discussing Hickory firewood, Pecan firewood needs to be mentioned also. Pecan firewood is one of our favorites because when using in a BBQ smoker, it can really help the meat fall off the bone. It is a light nut wood that is really underrated. Pecan firewood has so many ways it can be used like smoking beef or grilling and smoking fish.  If you are looking for only one smoking firewood then pecan firewood may be a smoking wood to consider.

We also need to discuss the hottest burning firewood options out there.  The hottest burning firewood available has to be Osage Orange which is also called Osage firewood.  It is also called Horse Apple and Bodark firewood. It has many different names it can be called but the ost important part is the heat it can put out in your winter fireplace. It is a very strong and hardwood that really has a long burn time.  When Osage Orange is deprived of oxygen, it tends to spark so it is smart to have a fireplace screen.  Another great way to use Hedge firewood is in the BBQ smoker. In Kansas, Hedge firewood is their go to firewood for everything!

One of the best options for heat output for a firewood and an amazing smoking wood for sale is Persimmon firewood. Persimmon firewood has a great heating output and it is one of the best fruit firewood options for smoking anything. Persimmon smoking wood has a unique and wonderful smelling that will create a great outcome for all your smoking needs in your BBQ smoker.

Hi Stan,

I understand. It’s good to look for a consistent firewood supply then just try firewood here and there and not really have a consistent outcome.

Pecan firewood – I would go with pecan firewood as a smoking firewood and smoking wood first. It’s a firewood I carry year round and it is a great start to your experimenting in your bbq smoker. Pecan firewood is known to moisten meat and get the meat close to falling off the bone. It is one of my favorites and I use it regularly in my own cooking and smoking. Either you can start your fire box with some long burning lump charcoal and then place the pecan firewood lengths or chunks on top. Or you can use the pecan firewood as your coal base and have a 100% pecan firewood smoke.
Another good option that is consistent for us is Hickory firewood. It burns hotter as a firewood than the pecan firewood but hickory firewood is known as the King of the Smoking Woods and has that amazing authentic flavor that is known for bbq ribs. Hickory firewood combined with pecan firewood is a well known smoking wood recipe. If you’d really like to go all out and try an amazing smoking firewood recipe, you’ll be very happy with the mix of hickory firewood and pecan firewood.

Great question!

Hi,

I was wondering which smoking firewood options you have year round. I am trying to find a firewood that is consistent year round and then I am going to experiment with other firewood for my bbq smoker. Thanks for the help.

Sharon,

The hottest burning firewood we carry right now is Mesquite firewood. It burns long and hot and we recommend it as a great fireplace firewood and also for the BBQ smoker. IF you have some left over from the winter, it works great in the smoker and chiminea. One of the hottest burning firewoods in the nation has to be a firewood called Hedge. It is primarily used in Kansas. Thanks for your question.

Harold,

Pinion wood is the longest and hottest burning pinion firewood that we have found. A typical pine wood is Ponderosa Pine and it is nice, but it just doesn’t burn all that hot and long. We sold a lot of larger quantities of pinion firewood especially for indoor fireplaces.

Josh,

Yes, we have firewood year round. Although most of our firewood is cooking and smoking wood related, we always have firewood available that can be used indoors and outdoors. If you are looking for some basic firewood, then click on the firewood menu up top to find what you need. The firewood chunks are really nice because they are easy to handle and manage. Thanks for your firewood question.
