firewood for sale
Some great firewood for sale we have is Pecan firewood. It is a good choice for your fireplace, smoker and your chiminea. It is good for your fireplace because it is a hot burning firewood and it doesn't give off a stale smell. Our customers that choose pecan wood are really surprised by how much they like it for all purposes. It is a all around great option for all seasons of the year.  Here in the midwest, people are familiar with oak firewood because it grows prolifically in this area. It is also a hot burning wood that can be used in various ways. It works well in the fireplace in the winter and also serves well as a base firewood in the BBQ smoker. Another good option is Hickory wood and is a hot burning nut wood that is exceptionally nice in the fireplace. It does not have a stale smell and reminds people of the smell of the outside of well known BBQ restaurants. I personally really like Hickory wood for burgers on the grill and the smoker. It is known as the "King of the smoking woods" but if it is seasoned well it is awesome for the winter fireplace.

Another firewood for sale to mention is walnut firewood. It happens to not leave any soot in your fireplace but is also very aromatic in your outdoor fireplace and chiminea. It is another hot burning fireplace firewood that can keep you warm all winter long. Check our online store for all these great options.  If you happen to be camping and need a good firewood to cook burgers and more over the fire, one of the best choices would be Hickory firewood for sale. It has a long burn and produces a lot of heat. It can really make for some very tasty food over a open fire.  Hickory firewood for sale is known as the "King of the Smoking Woods" and really lives up to its name.  Another fine smoking wood is Pecan firewood for sale. It doesn't pack as much heat if you are using it in the winter time but it creates some fabulous food. Pecan is a light nut firewood and it isn't too overbearing and won't overpower your food. That is a plus to being not as overbearing. Pecan firewood for sale can be great in grilling fish and other seafood. So, whether you are cooking Cod, Tilapia, flounder or another type of fish, having a wood fired grill using Pecan firewood will help your fish and seafood turn out excellent.  Another type of firewood for sale happens to be Mesquite firewood. This is a firewood for sale to be careful with because it can be very overpowering. It is really good for fajitas and burgers or anything that doesn't stay on the grill or BBQ smoker for very long.  Often times Mesquite Firewood for sale can be overbearing on the smoker if used for over 3 hour smokes. If you are looking for a longer smoking wood like 6+ hours, consider Pecan firewood or hickory firewood.

When you are looking for firewood for sale, make sure you are getting the exact measurement for your money. Words like “rack” “rick” and “truckload” are all illegal firewood measurements. A good video on this is at: http://kfor.com/2014/11/18/saving-a-buck-comparing-firewood-prices-across-oklahoma/

The only legal way to buy and sell firewood for sale is by a cord measurement. If you are not buying a cord or fraction of a cord, it is a scam. Just like if you were to buy a cup of flour and it was measured out and then someone else is selling it by the handful. How much flour is in a handful? No one knows not even the seller but you can bet 100% he knows it’s not a flour. Also buy from a real firewood company because the majority of firewood scam are on Craigslist and they take cash only so they don’t have to pay taxes. Always buy using the “cord” measurements and that is 4 feet x 4 feet x 8 feet. If someone is selling a “face cord” and says 2 of those equal a cord, then the length of those pieces of wood must be 24" long. If they are only 17" or so, you are getting scammed. Be careful and buy from a legit tax paying firewood corporation.

Nice webpage. I’m in Las Vegas. I’d like to set up a firewood business. I’m trying to find sources for local hardwoods… mesquite, orchard hardwoods, etc. I’m pretty sure there are orchard trees in CA and WA, but am not having any luck in finding a source for what would work here. There seems to be a market here for residential, pizza ovens, and convenience store for camping and such. There are a few businesses in this area, but it seems like delivery isn’t available in many of them. If you have any insight into sources of logs or trees in this area (AZ, CA, NV, etc) I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Matthew Giacalone

I go on a lot of camping trip and am looking for a firewood recommendation for it. I also like the “chunks” you sell. Can you tell me more?

Thanks,

Stan,

A couple of the hottest burning firewood for sale we have right now is Texas Mesquite, Persimmon, Kansas Hedge and Southern Hickory. When it comes to firewood heat output, it is described in BTU’s. If you have glanced at a BTU chart you will see the top two firewood options for heating is Persimmon and Hedge. They both can get incredibly hot and are the hottest firewood options in the nation. Also very hot burning firewood for sale is Hickory and Mesquite. Hickory wood is a hardwood that not only has a great aroma but is a long burning hot wood. Mesquite firewood is known to be a wood that has a heat output that when used in cooking, is for short cooking sessions because of the heat output it provides. A lot of charcoal out there also has a base of mesquite firewood for sale. The one great thing about fruit and nut firewood is the aroma will be better. Although some people say they don’t care much about that, some smoke does get in your home if you are using it in a fireplace. Our sense of smell is one of the most powerful senses we have so we might as well buy a firewood for sale that we are really going to enjoy. Great question, Stan

There are many different options when you are looking for firewood for sale. The most important part to decide is what you will be using the firewood for. There are some great winter fireplace firewood options that when you have some left over after the cold season are wonderful for your spring and summer cooking. A firewood for sale that can be used year round may be a really nice feature of your purpose. At Upchurch Cooking Firewood, almost all of our firewood for sale can be used year round. The last thing you want is too have extra firewood after winter just lay around til the following November. A couple of firewood for sale options we have that are great year round is Pecan wood and Hickory wood. These two options can be used in your winter fireplace, your BBQ smoker, your chiminea and your outdoor fireplace and fire pit. These are better firewood for sale options than getting stuck with a winter wood that only has the purpose of a winter time function.

We usually ship it out quickly, it depends how many orders we have. We are able to ship that day, but it leaves our wood shop within 36 hours when we are really busy.
