In our opinion that are definitely some different smoking woods for sale that work better than others in certain cooking. In your BBQ smoker, if you are smoking some nice pork ribs, you may really like the 50% hickory smoking wood with the 50% pecan smoking wood. The hickory wood gives you that nice authentic flavor and the pecan smoking wood helps the meat fall off the bone. If we were to choose one smoking wood that exceeded all the others it would be pecan smoking wood. It is a light nut wood and seriously brings out all the flavoring in your cooked and smoked food. Pecan wood is not overbearing like smoking woods like mesquite. Mesquite smoking wood has ability to completely overpower and dominate foods to where it is so intense we have had to throw away the meat we used with mesquite. If you re looking forward to smoking some great meats, be very careful with the mesquite smoking wood.

There are many smoking wood options you can choose when it comes to finding a great cooking wood for your tastes.  One of the most popular nation smoking wood favorites is Hickory smoking wood. Hickory smoking wood can be used in various different cooking ways. It's a great smoking wood for sale when it comes to pork bbq ribs. Hickory smoking wood for sale is also great for brisket.  There are some part of the United States that do not have hickory trees growing nearby and hickory smoking wood seems to be more popular in those areas. Another great smoking wood is Pecan smoking wood for sale. Pecan smoking wood also goes well with hickory wood if smoking and grilling ribs are your prime cooking choice. Pecan wood tends to tenderize the meat more than hickory wood does but when you combine the two cooking woods you create a powerful smoking wood combination.  Another way to use smoking wood is by using cooking wood pellets. Smoking wood pellets come in many different cooking flavors like pecan, hickory wood, mesquite wood, maple wood, alder wood and more. Yes Thomas,

There are some great smoking wood recommendations for boston butt pork. It’s one of the easiest meats to smoke and is rather inexpensive at the meat butcher and grocery store. When picking a smoking wood for sale its good to remember that boston butt pork does absorb quite a bit of fruit wood or nut wood smoke because it is a softer meat compared to brisket and such. When it comes pork, a lighter wood is prefered over the harsher smoking woods. So, that means to stay away from mesquite wood. Mesquite wood can be very harsh and strong. There are some meats that do great with mesquite wood for sale like fajitas and some of the thicker meats. One great answer for pork is using pecan wood and fruit smoking woods. Think light woods when it comes to pork and pecan wood just happens to be one of my all around favorites. Are there other smoking woods that can be great? Absolutely. I’ve used apricot wood, pear wood, persimmon wood, apple wood, cherry wood all for pork but I choose to stick with what works well for me and that leaves me with pecan wood. Also, smoking wood pellets can allow you to become very creative too because there are many wood pellets that can do a great job also. Thanks Thomas and great smoking wood and firewood question. #growokc

Is there a smoking wood for sale that you’d recommend for smaller game birds? I am thinking it needs to be delicate and not over smoke the birds. My husband and I just need some advise on a good smoking wood for this occasion. Thank you!

Well, it’s the cooking wood is referred to as smoking wood. We are all familiar with firewood for sale. In every corner of America you can find “heating” firewood for sale in many places. There are some types of trees in nature that when the wood is split the firewood burns hotter than other types of firewood for sale. One of the hottest burning firewoods you can burn in the country is Hedge Apple firewood that grows primarily in Kansas. It does grow in a couple other places but not much. It is a very hard wood to cut through with a chainsaw. This type of apple wood for sale burns very hot but you often need a screen in front of your fireplace because hedge apple firewood for sale does have a history of sparking when the firewood is deprived of oxygen. Another hot burning firewood that is also a great smoking wood is hickory wood. Hickory makes a hot burning winter firewood and also a year round great smoking wood for sale. A firewood for sale that is often used for heating in the winter but not always is pecan firewood. Pecan is a great smoking wood and one of the best smoking wood options available for smoking meats on your bbq smoker. It can be used in the winter fireplace but it doesn’t burn as hot as the hedge apple firewood and hickory wood for sale. Mesquite smoking wood also burns hot in the winter time and is used exclusively in texas as a smoking wood. Mesquite wood is a favorite cooking wood for sale and can be used year round. We also have camp fire firewood that can be used on camping trips. Make sure you a cooking wood or a smoking wood if you plan to do on any cooking on the open fire. For all your best smoking wood needs, Upchurch Cooking Firewood as it all for you!

Sarah in Denver, CO – Smoking wood is a way of using wood to “smoke” to flavor meats, pork, chicken and many other foods. Smoking wood is not meant to catch fire and burn up but to do a smoldering act and create smoky flavor for foods. Firewood is often a term for wood used as winter heating. We refer to smoking wood for sale also as Cooking Firewood but as long as “Cooking” and “Smoking” are involved it is for food. Many types of firewood you would never want to use in cooking. Elm firewood is one of these examples. If you are going to grill some t-bone steaks there are a couple great smoking woods for sale we have that would work great paired with the steaks. Hickory wood grills steaks well and also pecan wood. We do have a smoking wood combination of half hickory wood and half pecan wood that we would suggest. Here is the link: http://www.cookingfirewood.com/collections/smoking-wood/products/hickory-pecan-wood

Great question Sarah and hope this helps!

Hi Jeff in Salt Lake City UT -

Our full length smoking wood comes in 16" length. That is the standard but if you need it shorter that won’t be a problem. Some smoker boxes are smaller and take shorter full length split smoking wood logs. On the chunks they are between 5" and 6". With your BBQ smoker, most people prefer the chunks because you can be really specific on where you want to put the chunk of smoking wood. Meaning off to the side or right in the fire. It makes a big difference if you can have that possibility in your cooking with your smoking wood. Thanks Jeff, great question

Hi,

I like that your smoking woods are stored indoors. I’ve received damp wood from other firewood and smoking wood companies. With your full length smoking wood, how long are the pieces and then how big are the chunks that you sell. Thanks

There are quite a few differences to soaking your smoking wood in water. Firstly, it will enable the smoking wood to smoke more so you can get a little more out of the smoking wood which is nice. But also consider when you soak your smoking wood in water there is a little more moisture in your smoker but this can be good if you want your meat more tender. If you want your cooked meat not as tender then you want to stay away from soaking your smoking wood in water. Another interesting part of soaking your smoking wood is that you don’t burn up your smoking wood for sale quickly. Your smoking wood is going to last longer and this can be seen as a plus.

Great question!

Samuel,

That is a very often asked question in our business. What is the best smoking wood? Firstly the internet says that apple wood is the best. We don’t agree with that at all. It is way to tangy and I never use apple smoking wood because there are such better options. Some smoking woods that are better is Pecan smoking wood and Persimmon smoking wood. Customers that have come to use wanting apple wood, we turned them on to a mix of pecan smoking wood mixed with persimmon smoking wood and it was hands down a complete success. Our customers never went back to apple smoking wood. Hope this helps! If you need more tips and expert advice please write again. – Upchurch Smoking wood

Hi Thomas from Boston MA,

When it comes to boston pork butt, we personally like it to stay moist. It is not the slice of meat that you want to toughen. I would primarily use pecan smoking wood. Its good to use another smoking wood along with it cause it can strengthen the qualities of each wood. You could even use some 100% cooking pellets. Pecan and persimmon is what first comes to mind as a good pair of smoking wood combinations. Let us know if you need any other advice, we love to give out great advice from our cooking experience.

Hi Smoking wood,

I like the idea of your wood stored indoors. I don’t want to cook with rotted or wood stored outdoors. Do you have a recommendation on a smoking wood for boston pork butt ? Thanks for your advice.
